around the town: how Liza and i do not waste a sunny day

gorgeous day out in San Francisco!

missed my Friday class, it was inevitable that it would be missed-- but i did have the good intentions to go that morning! it was just such a lovely day to not ignore.

Liza and I met up at the Powell BART station and began walking past the Metreon (progress is looking great! cannot wait until ALL the eateries are open, and just blown away by the new Chronicle Books store on 4th) into SoMa towards AT&T Park for a Panera in the area there-- i hadn't eaten breakfast yet.

suddenly, we made a 360-- it was nearing 11 and i was feeling in the mood for lunch. and Popeyes was really close to my school...

never had Popeyes before. always heard the debates between KFC and such, but didn't think that it would be that good. Liza and i leisurely enjoyed our meals at the location on Hayes and Divisadero. by the time we finished i declared that at 11:52 am, i wouldn't go to class.

we walked along Divis back towards the 5 line back to downtown. god! did we have fun upon seeing this-- a public chalkboard for passerbys to scribble thoughts, notes, and their issues; you can't see my print. this sure was something though. imagine all the folks who walked by and turned around wanting to leave some sort of impression here. the basic drawing board for a great story that intertwines many lives, i'd say. very French. or in this case San Franciscan! made my heart skip a beat.

don't know what else to say about skyscrapers. i love them. it's one of man's greatest arts and Wilde would be proud as they lean towards the aesthetic and away from base utilitarian. furthermore it's just the sublimity in them, and a love for man as this was something he has accomplished after such a long lifetime of existence.

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE ELSE LIKE THE WATERS OF THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY.

at last it was to home, a romantic getaway back to BART on the F line streetcar. it's undoubtedly one of my favorite lines of Muni, especially the incorporation of old-fashioned streetcars. the one we took, light was everywhere.

always look forward to Fridays, and if you don't, take it upon yourself to make it a remarkable day.
