the beauty of conditioning yourself to get up early for classes in the week-- getting up fairly early on weekends!

on my mind: green tea AND hot chocolate from Starbucks.

last night: submitted a story to The New Yorker. this is my second attempt at getting published by them; the first try was last spring and three months later i was all too prepared for the rejection email i received. maybe this year (with a more refined and concise story) things might change. that's the beauty of writing, taking these chances, and even if there's nothing to be promised from them you're still highly satisfied in giving your all.

i do have to write another story for Studies in Fiction on Monday. pretty excited for this one. always excited for this class. finally a chance in college to develop myself as a writer and receiving useful critique AS WELL AS reading and just studying stories without major papers due. fantastic.
